Compared to other products in the same series, the TEC1-03110 operates at an ultra-low voltage of less than 4V and can achieve high-power cooling of 37W within the extremely small 20×20mm footprint, offering extremely high power density. 🔷Thermoelectric Generation Principle of Operation


The TEC1-03110 utilizes the Peltier effect to achieve thermoelectric cooling. At its core, multiple pairs of high-density P-type (Bi₂Te₃-Sb₂Te₃ hole-type) and N-type (Bi₂Te₃-Bi₂Se₃ electron-type) semiconductor grains are connected in series via metal bus bars to form a thermoelectric stack, which is sandwiched between two layers of highly thermally conductive 96% alumina ceramic substrates.


When a forward DC voltage (up to 3.7 V) is applied, a high current of 10 A drives the holes in the P-type material and the electrons in the N-type material to migrate rapidly in opposite directions. At the PN junction interface, a large number of charge carriers exchange energy as they pass through—the cold junction absorbs lattice vibration energy (phonons), causing the temperature to drop rapidly, while the hot junction releases energy, causing the temperature to rise. Under the continuous drive of a strong electric field, a large amount of heat is continuously “pumped” from the cold end to the hot end, enabling rapid active cooling.


The core distinction between the TEC1-03110 and other models in the same series lies in its design philosophy of ultra-low voltage, ultra-high current, and extremely low internal resistance. With a maximum voltage of 3.7V, it can be powered directly by a single lithium-ion battery (nominal voltage 3.7V, fully charged 4.2V), eliminating the need for a DC-DC boost converter. This avoids the 5–15% efficiency loss and additional costs associated with boost circuits, resulting in higher overall system efficiency. With an internal resistance of just 0.29 Ω, the Joule heat loss at a current of 10 A is 29 W; the hot end requires a high-efficiency heat sink (water cooling or a large air-cooled heat sink is recommended) to dissipate heat promptly.


When the hot-end temperature is 40°C, this product achieves a maximum temperature difference of 70°C (K14 model), meaning the cold-end temperature can reach as low as approximately -30°C. Due to its high cooling power (37W), the heat generated at the hot end is correspondingly high (total heat generation ≈ input power + cooling power ≈ 37W + actual heat pump power). It must be equipped with a cooling system capable of sufficient heat dissipation (recommended: extruded aluminum heatsink of at least 50×50×30 mm + high-performance fan or water block); otherwise, excessive hot-end temperatures will severely limit the cooling performance at the cold end. At the same time, high-current operation places greater demands on the power supply’s load-carrying capacity and the lead wires’ current-carrying capacity. When designing the system, the compatibility among the power supply, lead wires, and heat dissipation must be comprehensively considered.
