The tec cooler runs on the Peltier Effect. When DC current flows through the thermoelectric module, heat will be transferred from one ceramic side to the opposite side. One surface becomes cold for cooling purpose, while the other side generates heat which must be dissipated by a matched heat sink. Reversing DC current will swap hot and cold sides.
